With the Insert File , you can upload files to your Typepad account and place a link to download the file in your post or page. Later versions of Microsoft programs, including Word, Excel, and Powerpoint, offer the option to save the files with an x
at the end of the file type:
.docx
.xlsx
.pptx
Files saved with one of the above extensions are zipped, XML-based file formats. The zipped file format is not ideal for readers to download files from your blog.
Instead, it is recommended any files you want to make available for download on your blog or website be saved in the 97-2004 format.
To save the file in a different format, go to File > Save As. From the Format drop-down menu, select the 97-2004 option which shows one of the file extensions:
.doc
.xls
.ppt
When you have saved your file in the standard format, you can use the Insert File button in the Rich Text toolbar to upload the file to your post or page. Or, you can upload the file to your Typepad account at Library > and include a link to the file in the sidebar of your blog with a Links Typelist.
