Control Panel Overview

Your TypePad Control Panel is where you configure the various settings for your account. Click the Control Panel tab in TypePad to access your Control Panel area.

On the Control Panel Overview page, there is information about your account displayed in your Author Profile Summary and Account Summary. Shortcuts to common tasks in the Control Panel are available in the Control Panel Shortcuts area.

Here you can also access the other areas of the Control Panel:
Profile, Site Access, Stats, Account Info and Help

Author Profile Summary

Your author profile summary displays details from your author profile. These items (except your User name) are set by Editing Your Author Profile.

User name: Your TypePad login name (this is set when you sign up).
Author Name: Your first and last name as entered in your author profile.
Email Address: Your email address as entered in your author profile.
Web Address (URL): Your web address entered in your author profile.
Language: The language you have selected in your author profile.
Time zone: The time zone you have selected in your author profile.

Account Summary

Your account summary displays information about your account, including details about your account usage.

Your current TypePad plan.: Your current TypePad membership level: Guest, Basic, Plus, or Pro.
Your billing rate: Your current billing rate.
Your diskspace allotment: The amount of storage space you have with your membership level.; Pro = 200MB, Plus = 100MB, Basic = 50MB
Your actual diskspace usage: The amount of your total storage you are using currently; this figure is updated daily.
Your bandwidth allotment: The amount of transfer you are allowed with your membership per month.; Pro = 5GB/Month, Plus = 3GB/Month, Basic = 1GB/Month; When your pages are visited or files are downloaded, the data is transferred and this counts as bandwidth.
Actual bandwidth usage this month: The amount of bandwidth you have used so far this month.
Projected bandwidth usage this month: An approximation, based on your recent bandwidth usage, of the amount of bandwidth that you will use this month.
TypePad subscriber since: The date you signed up for TypePad.
Your billing status: Your current billing status.

What happens if I go over my bandwidth or disk usage limits?

We will be charging overusage fees for bandwidth and disk overusage. We haven’t yet set the rate for those fees, and we will not actually be charging them until we have an option in place to purchase additional bandwidth or disk space at a lower cost. In the time being, the statistics on the control panel should be a good gauge as to how much extra bandwidth and disk space you’ll need.
