Viewing Your Billing and Transaction History

Click the Control Panel tab to access your Control Panel area, then click the Account Info tab and finally the Transaction History tab to view your Transaction History.

In your Transaction History, the date, description, the last four digits of the credit card used, and the amount of the charge is listed next to each line item in your history.

If you earn revenue through commerce features such as Text Ads, payments of your invoices through TypePad's Auto-Pay feature will be noted "via Auto-Pay" under the Credit Card column of your Transaction History.

Printing an Invoice

Click the View Invoice link next to the invoice you want to print to open an invoice in a new browser window for printing.

Suspended Accounts

Accounts are suspended when billing status shows one or more unpaid invoices. Your invoices may be unpaid due to one of the following reasons:

From the initial billing attempt that failed users have 7 days to provide TypePad with up-to-date and valid credit card information before your account will be automatically suspended.

To reactivate your suspended TypePad account, please update the credit card information (see Updating your Billing Information below) we have on file for you. Once we have validated your credit card your account will be immediately reactivated. Within 24 hours your credit card will be charged for any unpaid invoices. If the billing error persists while attempting to charge your credit card, your account will be re-suspended, and you will be notified.

Account or Billing Status Questions

If you have a question about your account, please click New Ticket on your Control Panel Help tab and choose I have a billing-related question or problem for the reason when you enter your message.

There is also a shortcut for this on your Billing History page, with the Submit a billing Help Ticket link.

Updating your Billing Information

In your Control Panel on the Account Info tab, click the Update Credit Card link to open your billing information.

Enter your new information and click Save Changes.

Updating Your Billing Cycle

To modify the duration of your TypePad subscription, also known as your Billing Cycle, simply select "Yearly" or "Monthly" under Billing Cycle.

When modifying your billing cycle from monthly to yearly, your credit card will immediately be charged for a 1-year subscription to TypePad. Your annual subscription officially begins at the end of your current billing cycle.

When modifying your billing cycle from yearly to monthly. Your monthly subscription will officially begin at the end of your current billing period at which point TypePad will begin charging your credit on a monthly basis for the TypePad service.

Upgrading or Downgrading Your Membership

In your Control Panel on the Account Info tab, click the Upgrade/Downgrade Account link to open the page to set your TypePad membership level.

After you select your new TypePad level and click Change My Membership, you will be prompted to confirm whether you wish to change your membership level.

Once you confirm, the change will take place immediately and your account will now have the features of the new level. You will also receive an email message summarizing the changes.

Your billing price would change from the beginning of the next full month of service, with monthly plans being adjusted to the new price level and yearly plans being adjusted by a prorated amount from the beginning of the next calendar month.

Note that if you have earnings in your Pro-level TypePad account, you may lose access to these earnings by downgrading. See What happens to my earnings if I downgrade my TypePad membership?

Cancelling Your TypePad Account

Click the Control Panel tab to access your Control Panel area, then click the Cancel my account link in the Control Panel Shortcuts to open the page where you can cancel your membership.

If you have a monthly payment plan, your service will terminate at the end of the current month, after which you will not be charged again. A yearly plan will terminate at the end of the year for which you have paid, after which you will not be charged again. Refunds are not offered for the unused balance on an account which has been cancelled.

You can cancel your TypePad account at any time during your 30 day trial and you will not be charged.

Before Cancelling

Before you cancel your TypePad paid membership, please be aware of the following events that will occur:

Once you cancel your paid membership, this deletion will take effect immediately. WE CAN NOT UNDO THIS DELETION. There are no refunds for partial months. If you pre-paid for a year of the service, we can not refund your payments for the remaining months. Once you cancel your membership, this deletion will take effect immediately. WE CAN NOT UNDO THIS DELETION.

If you choose to sign up for the TypePad service at a later date, your current codes will not be carried over, and you will be required to pay full price for the service.

You will be able to remain a member of any weblog on which you are currently a guest author. Upon cancellation you will be downgraded to a free member of TypePad, and any weblog, photo album, TypeList, or file not associated with the weblog that you are a guest author of will be deleted.

You must agree to the terms of cancellation before your account is deleted. After cancellation, you will receive an email message confirming cancellation of your TypePad paid account.
