Welcome to the TypePad User Manual

This TypePad User Manual is designed to help new members learn how to get started with TypePad and to help experienced users get the most from the TypePad system.  We’ve organized the documentation into a few key areas, each corresponding to the main tabs in TypePad.  From here, you can move right into reading about Your Weblogs, Your Photo Albums, Your TypeLists, or Your Control Panel.

Getting Started

If you’re new to TypePad, you should get started by Creating a New Weblog.  You can view the first weblog you create at the web address you selected when you registered for TypePad, such as http://example.typepad.com/.  You can find out how to create the first post on your new weblog by reading Posting to Your Weblog.

Once you’ve learned how to update your site by posting to your weblog, you can change the look of your pages by Selecting a Template Set for Your Weblog or use the TypePad Template Builder to set up customized templates by Creating a New Basic Template Set.

TypePad Support

If you ever experience a problem with the TypePad service, there are several ways to get help. The Knowledge Base and this User Manual answer many of the most common questions. But if you are not able to find the answer you’re looking for, please open a new help ticket and we’ll work with you to help solve the issue.

Members who are logged in to the TypePad service can contact us from their Control Panel Help area with the "New Ticket" page, or choose Open a New Help Ticket to open a TypePad help ticket in a new window.

Whenever you submit a help ticket, the more detailed your description of your problem, the easier it will be for us to help you. For more information on your support options, you may wish to read about TypePad Support.
