Post and Page Footer Configuration

At Design > Content, click the pencil icon next to the Post or Page Footer module to select content to be included in the footer. If you are using an Advanced Template Set for your blog's design, skip down to the instructions for updating your template tags by clicking here.

Post Footer

The available options for the Post Footer include:

  • "Posted" - "Posted by" or "Posted on" at the beginning of the footer.
  • Author Pic - The photo uploaded to your Typepad Profile.
  • Author Name - The Display Name set for your account at Account > Summary.
  • Date - The Date in the format set at Settings > Posts for your blog.
  • Time - The Time in the format set at Settings > Posts for your blog.
  • Category - The categories assigned to the post as links to the category index.
  • Technorati Tags - Tags as links to the Technorati search results for the same keywords.
  • Reblog - Link to Reblog a portion of your post which opens the Blog It window.
  • Favorite - Link to mark post as a Favorite.
  • Digg This - Link to Digg post.
  • Save to del.icio.us - Link to save post as a bookmark at del.icio.us.
  • Tweet This - Link to tweet a link to the post on Twitter. More information is available in the article on integrating your blog with Twitter.
  • Google +1 - Add the +1 one button to allow readers to share your post in their Google circle. More information is available here.
  • Facebook Like - Link to add a link to Facebook wall as liked post. More information on the Facebook Like button is available here.
  • Pinterest - Link to pin post at Pinterest. More information on the Pin It button is available here.

You can also choose if you'd like to show the footer links as links or icons. See below for more information on the permalink, which will always be displayed in the post footer.

Permalink

The Permalink is the permanent location for the post. When you click the Permalink it takes you to the archive page for that post, which is used to link directly to that specific post.

When a post is no longer displayed on the Main Index, it is still always accessible at the Permalink location. By default, the post footer will always have a permalink.

FeedFlare

Due to the retirement of FeedBurner's API, FeedFlares for your blog are no longer available.

Page Footer

The available options for the Page Footer include:

  • Reblog - Link to Reblog a portion of your post which opens the Blog It window.
  • Favorite - Link to mark post as a Favorite.
  • Digg This - Link to Digg post.
  • Save to del.icio.us - Link to save post as a bookmark at del.icio.us.
  • Tweet This - Link to tweet a link to the post on Twitter. More information is available in the article on integrating your blog with Twitter.
  • Google +1 - Add the +1 one button to allow readers to share your post in their Google circle. More information is available here.
  • Pinterest - Link to pin post at Pinterest. More information on the Pin It button is available here.

You also have the option to to display the links as buttons.

Configuring the Footer with Advanced Templates

When you are using Advanced Templates for your blog's design, you'll need to edit your templates directly to make any changes to the post or page footer content. The default tags for the footer in the Main Index, DateBased Archives, and Category Archives templates are:

The Individual Archives and Pages templates will have slightly different default tags for the footer.

Date and Time

To edit the display of date and time in the Post Footer, edit the MTEntryDate tag using the date and time tags.

Author Photo

To display the author photo, add the below template tag within the MTEntries container:
