Adding Photos to Your Photo Album

Tip: Be sure to check out TypePad's Photo Upload Tools to make uploading photos to photo albums even easier!

Click the Add New Photos Add New Photos link to open the Add New Photos page for the album. If you have not already created an album, see Creating a New Photo Album first.

The photos are sized when uploaded, to the size you have set for the photos in the advanced configuration when Setting Your Album Preferences.

Images must be in one of the following formats in order to be uploaded to your albums for display.

1 Select the number of photos to upload

Select the number of photos you wish to upload in this batch. The number of items for step 2 will change to reflect your setting.

You can also upload a .zip file to a Photo Album (see below).

2 Browse your computer for the photos

Click the “Browse...” buttons to locate the photos on your computer. Each individual photo should be selected by a different “Browse...” button.

3 Press UPLOAD

Once you’ve selected your photos, add them to the album by clicking the UPLOAD button.

The upload popup window opens and your photos will upload to TypePad. The time this requires depends on your connection, and the number and size of your original photos.

Uploading a .zip file to a Photo Album

This is useful when you have more than a couple images. You can pack up all the images into a single zipped file for upload. TypePad will automatically unpack this file and add the photos to your album.

The .zip file should have the .zip extension and contain photos in formats that TypePad Photo Album supports: .gif, .jpg, and .png

First, create the .zip file. It’s easy to create a .zip file using your operating system:

In Windows XP:
1. Create a folder and put all of the image files in it.
2. Right click on the folder, and select “Send To” > “Compressed (zipped) Folder”

This will create a .zip file of the folder that you can upload to TypePad.

In OS X 10.3:
1. Create a folder and put all of the image files in it.
2. Right click on the folder (control-click), and select “Create Archive of [folder name]”

If you’re using another operating system, use a zip utility to create the .zip file.

Now you’re ready to upload the .zip file to your album using the steps above for Adding Photos to Your Photo Album. For step 1, select “I’m uploading a zipped folder” from the drop-down menu for the number of photos to upload in this batch.
