Adding a Photo Album

This feature is available to all Pro plans. From the Navigation bar, you can select Photo Albums from the Library drop down menu. There you will see a list of your current Photo Albums, along with a link in the right hand of the light blue Title Bar to Add a photo album. Clicking on the link will expand the section and allow you to fill in the form with the setup information for your new album:

Enter the album name

This is what you wish to call your album. The album name will appear on your album pages.

Your album name can be changed at any time after creating the album by Setting Your Album Preferences but this will not change the folder name.

Enter the album folder name

This is what you want to name the folder that will store all of the pages and photos for your album.

When you type an album name in step 1, an album folder name was automatically suggested. You can use this suggestion or type a different folder name to use for your album.

Every album is stored in its own folder. The album folder name is added to the end of your main URL, in the photos directory. A short album folder name will keep your photo album URL short:

http://example.typepad.com/photos/name/

Currently the album folder name cannot be changed (though photos can be cloned to another album) so it works best to set a suitable folder name when creating the album.

Press "Create New Photo Album"

Press the button to create your new photo album and you will be sent to the Manage page for the new album. See Adding Photos to Your Photo Album to get started adding photos. There is also a Cancel button, in case you have changed your mind or want to restart the Album creation process.
